It has been a while since I have posted under this title. The last one I did was on the PETA Sea Kittens Campaign. When I came across this story it blew my mind, so I had to ask the question: Are you freakin’ kidding?
Keni Garcia of Haverhill, Massachusetts was arrested recently on illegal weapons charges. Three counts of possession of high capacity firearms, one count possession of ammunition, one count illegal storage of a firearm. The district attorney who prosecuted the case made a big deal out of the fact that Garcia had 30,000 rounds of pistol ammunition in his possession. He is quoted in the article as saying, “…if he were to fire a gun for eight hours a day, it would take weeks for him to use all of it.” So effing what? What the hell is wrong with buying ammo and storing it for later use? Talk about a croc of shit! All rounds were 9mm, .38 Special, and .22; hardly what most people in the gun culture would consider “man stoppers.” I guess the gun laws in Massachusetts are worse than in Illinois.
I see no malicious intent here. In fact, I see no crime here at all. Does it matter how many rounds the guy had? I don’t care if you own a gazillion rounds, it shouldn’t be against the law. If it is, I sure as hell wouldn't move to that state!
The worst part is, the Feds popped this guy on the same day he was to be granted his American citizenship! After reading through the comments on this article, I came across the gem: “Am I the only one who noticed that this guy is not a US citizen? Thus, that wonderful constitutional right to be as gun-toting nutty as we like doesn't apply. As a side note, I suspect that this arrest has less to do with what he actually purchased and a whole lot more to do with the fear that he plans to smuggle these weapons to his native country. If this is the case, I expect that the purpose of his arrest was to aid an investigation into those sorts of charges, rather than to get 'a dangerous gun-loving maniac off our streets.'"
I am sure this douche-bag is one of the same guys who has been protesting against Gitmo. You can’t have your cake and eat it too buddy. His arrest had more to do with the fear he would smuggle it out of the country? So we prosecute people on suspicion and not proof now? Until he makes a move to actually try to smuggle something out of the country, there is no crime. I would love to give this idiot some boxing lessons!
So I guess the lesson learned here is this: If you are a legal immigrant seeking citizenship here in the US, and you have legally purchased firearms and live in New Hampshire, don’t move to the Peoples Socialist State of Massachusetts. The Feds will stick it in you, and break it off.
Are you freakin’ kidding?
