Freedom Rant

This blog is, has always been, and always will be about freedom. I am going to address what I see as a failure to think. It is almost like I am standing outside everything that is going on, and can see all the ins and outs clearly; but others just keep doing what they always do and pay no heed to the truth. I am speaking to you here. I am speaking to the new reader of my blog. I am speaking to people who check it every day. I am speaking to those who agree with me, and are looking for some support in their beliefs. I am speaking to those who disagree with me. I am speaking to the person who reads my blog for a good laugh. Put this in your pipe and smoke it. I am speaking to you. Are you listening?

A few years ago when my sister was in her second year of college, she had me check out an assignment that she had. She was in some sort of Political Science class, and she wanted me to take a quiz that showed where I fell on a political scale called The Political Compass. The final computer generated result was a square; and by answering the questions, the quiz placed a dot somewhere inside the box to show where your political beliefs placed you. The four corners of the square were: Liberal, Conservative, Socialist, and Libertarian. My dot was on the far bottom right corner showing that I was a conservative. Go figure.

The more I think about this, the more I come to the conclusion that the scale is all wrong. It seems to me that this is all just another way to confuse people into believing whatever bullshit is thrown their way. That is not how the world looks to me, and I think I have a pretty good insight into things. Anyone with half a brain knows that a poll or test of this nature is all about the wording of the questions and answers. There was no option to choose “It’s none of the government’s damn business” as an answer. Had there been a choice like that, I would have been placed in the Libertarian corner, not the Conservative. That is my view on a lot of policy that I see these days. It really isn’t any of the governments’ damn business. You see, with the scale I just described the questions were worded in a way that made a Libertarian look like a moderate. If someone shares beliefs with liberals and conservatives, then they must be libertarian. That is not true. Those beliefs may look the same on the surface, but the root of the belief is totally different.

Let’s take a look at my kind of scale. I will use the typical left-right scale that everyone is familiar with, but it is going to go a bit deeper. In the middle you have Conservative and just to the left of that you have Liberal. To the far left you have Socialist, and to the extreme far right you have Libertarian/Constitutionalist.

Liberals are Socialists. There, I said it. I don’t care what you think about it, that is the way things are. The terms are interchangeable. Just like the terms Libertarian and Constitutionalist are interchangeable. A Christian libertarian is what I would call a Constitutionalist and that is where I place myself on the scale. Everything on the left side of the scale is one big group. The term liberal is just the new face of the old socialist belief. Let’s call a duck a duck here. You cannot be a little bit liberal; you cannot be a little bit socialist. It’s like saying you are a little bit pregnant. In fact, the only true moderate is the conservative. The conservative is the middle ground between the Socialist/Liberal faction and the Libertarians. The term “conservative” denotes conserving the system we have now. The system is broke. The system is on the verge of being a socialist democracy which is an oxymoron, but still possible. Look at France. Libertarians and Constitutionalists are on the side of freedom. I have no time for a lukewarm life; there is no grey area when it comes to freedom. Let me explain this a little deeper.

Liberals/Socialists want you to think with your heart. They use the media propaganda machine to show you all the bad things and “injustices” in the world and then do their best to make you feel sorry and guilty about them. They say that it is a moral imperative to do what we can to help out since we are so privileged, and the people on your TV are not. Everything is an emotional issue. They play to people’s emotions in the hope that they can gain your vote. A socialist’s logic comes from emotion. My emotion comes from my logic.

There are two types of Socialists: the manipulators, and the manipulated. I would call the manipulators the true socialists, and the manipulated are the ones who claim to be liberal. The manipulators constantly set up conditions for failure, and when the inevitable failure happens, the manipulators try to fix the problem with more conditions for failure. They are always there to throw gas on the fire and call it water. And the liberal manipulated believe it! What fools they are.

I can prove this point with about any issue we see in media today, but I am going to use an analogy that seems to be the most emotionally charged issue of the day. The issue I will use is that of gay marriage. Here is one of the most blatant uses of calling gas, water. This debate seems to center around: The death tax, the estate tax, being able to claim a partner as a dependant on income tax returns, and the right to make medical decisions during times of emergency. I may have left some things out here because this isn’t an issue I sit around and think about all the time. That being said, we will just go with these four items. So we have a tax issue, a tax issue, a tax issue, and a power of attorney issue.

Now ask yourself this question: What party has been the typical “tax and spend” party? I think we would agree that has been Democrats. What party do liberals always vote for? Again, we have the Democrats. Look at any socialist system anywhere in the world and you will see taxation run amuck. I am starting to see a bit of a contradiction in logic here. All of these taxes are supported by the socialist liberals, but they also support gay marriage. Those who support gay marriage do so to get equal taxation, but they support the people who tax them the most. Am I starting to make sense?

Now let’s look at a libertarian view of this issue. Libertarians are often quoted as saying, “My right to swing my fist stops at your nose.” Basically, you have your rights but they cannot infringe upon my own. In a truly free system, two consenting adults could live together in a home and do things as they choose. There would be no taxation problems to worry about since taxation is an infringement of my right to make a profit and keep it. You can’t have true freedom in an overtaxed society. The power of attorney for medical purposes would be a simple matter of paperwork.

Long story short, what you do behind closed doors is none of my business; and as much as you want to make me care, I don’t care at all. As a Christian, if you asked my opinion, I would tell you that I think that act is a sin and an abomination, but who am I to tell you how to live your life? Your sin isn’t my issue. That is between you and God. So you see, the quarrel here doesn’t really lie with the state, it lies with the Church. Gay people know that a true Christian church would never sanction a gay marriage. It goes against the teachings the religion. In fact, it goes against the teaching of every major religion on the planet. They know they can’t win this battle with the church so, they use the state to push their own brand of morality on others. They look to the only system that is willing to accept their lifestyle, the socialists. And the socialists are always there with open arms to welcome any kind of behavior, as long as it gets them voted into power. This is where libertarians draw the line. Your right to swing your fist stops at my nose, bub! You are not allowed to force me to accept that which I believe to be wrong.

In a truly free society, the issue of gay marriage wouldn’t even be a debate. Two consenting adults could live in the same house, comingle their funds, pass on their estate to each other without taxation, and make medical decisions for each other in times of crisis. There wouldn’t be an issue. When our country was founded, marriage was not a State sanctioned event. Two people went to a church and got married. They might have filed a record of it at that county courthouse, but there was no need for a complicated licensing process. It should be the same today. I have now brought my point back to “it’s none of the government’s damn business.” In fact, in a truly free society those two people would be allowed to practice their own deluded form of religion. They could go to their own church and have whatever kind of union ceremony they wanted and call it whatever they want, as long as they didn’t tell me that I have to accept it. When you try to force your moral ideas on me you take away my right to my own moral values and beliefs. Again, you are not allowed to force me to accept that which I believe to be wrong. That is not freedom, it is enslavement.

So you see, in this case, the socialists have set up a system of over-taxation. They have set up a system where a group of people is angered. Then they play the emotional card and say that it isn’t fair that one group of people should have tax breaks, and others should not. So what does that “disenfranchised” group do? They go out and vote for the people who are the root cause of the problem in the first place, because they have been manipulated into thinking they are being treated unfairly. They end up giving up rights in order to gain others. They submit to more taxation and inflation policy so that they can get tax breaks in one area of their life. That system can only last for so long. After a while, there will be no rights left.

A socialist’s logic comes from his emotions. My emotions come from my logic. I am justifiably angry about what I see here. I am angry because I see the root of the problem, and I see the manipulated being manipulated, but I am dragged down with them. I look at these people as a parent would look at a child. The parent watches the child make mistakes, but knows that the child isn’t yet able to understand the consequences of his actions. The parent wants the best for the child because it will be good for the whole family, but the child continues to err. Call me arrogant. Call me heartless. Call me cruel. If you think those names apply to me, you are one of the manipulated. If you understand my logic here, but are afraid of what it represents, then you are the manipulator, and you are my enemy.

Or maybe you see this happening, but are afraid. Maybe you think that by giving the socialists your support, they will somehow grant you favor when they come in the night to strip you of the last of your freedoms. You coward! They want nothing less than total control over every aspect of your life. You can gain no special favor from them. What good will your lifestyle choice be when you are forced to give 60%, 70%, 80%, 90% of your earnings to your puppet master in taxes? You are being manipulated.

Or maybe you are the type who says things like, “Well, you have your opinion and I have mine. The diversity of ideas is what makes America great.” Diversity of ideas is the antithesis of freedom if your ideas are socialist. What kind of Catch 22 have you put yourself in? You cannot have freedom by taking freedom away. If you gain one freedom by surrendering another, what have you gained? Nothing! It is a zero sum game! You can’t have your cake and eat it too! So who are you? Are you the manipulated, or the manipulator? If you gain rights by taking away those of another, what does that make you? It makes you a slave driver! What will you do when someone stronger comes to vote your rights away? You will do what you have always done; you will give them away for the deceitful promise of something greater. But we all know that those promises are never kept, and then you will be the slave! It is sad that I am the one fighting for your true rights, and you are fighting against me. You are misguided. You are wrong. You are being manipulated. You are a fool!

To sum things up, I don’t care about you. I don’t care what you do. I don’t care how you live your life. I don’t care who lives in your home. I don’t care who sleeps in your bed. I don’t care what you do for a living. All I care about is that I am left to live my life as I see fit. To teach my kids the values I have learned and come to accept in life. To make money to support myself and my family without it being taken away from me every step of the way and devalued. To not be told what to think or how to act. To not be told that I have to accept someone else’s moral creed. To not have to watch protests on TV put on my misguided manipulated fools. To not have to watch socialist propaganda on the news that manipulates the uneducated into voting their lives away. To not have my freedoms taken from me for the sake of someone else that I don’t really care about in the first place.

Do you want to know the secret to true success in life? Here it is: Mind your own damn business. When you do, everything else will fall into place. I’m trying to mind my own business, you should too! And if you think I am an arrogant, greedy, capitalist, rightwing, anti-social, fundamentalist, Evangelical Christian; then you are the biggest part of the problem. I wear those names with a badge of honor, you use them as scorn. You are the manipulated fool. The manipulated liberal fool wants the one right that is most important to him. I want truly equal rights for everyone. The liberal fool could have that one right if he would set emotion aside for a moment, use some basic logic, open his eyes, and see who is really pulling on his puppet strings. We both have the same goal, but I have a better way of reaching it. It is the way of true freedom.

“The doctrine that ‘human rights’ are superior to ‘property rights’ simply means that some human beings have the right to make property out of others; since the competent have nothing to gain from the incompetent, it means the right of the incompetent to own their betters and to use them as productive cattle. Whoever regards this as human and right, has no right to the title of ‘human’”. . . ”The only proper purpose of a government is to protect man’s rights, which means: to protect him from physical violence. A proper government is only a policeman, acting as an agent of man’s self defense, and, as such, may resort to force only against those who start the use of force. The only proper functions of a government are: the police, to protect you from criminals; the army, to protect you from foreign invaders; and the courts, to protect your property and contracts from breach or fraud by others, to settle disputes by rational rules, according to objective law. But a government that initiates the employment of force against men who had forced no one, the employment of armed compulsion against disarmed victims, is a nightmare infernal machine designed to annihilate morality: such a government reverses its only moral purpose and switches from the role of protector to the role of man’s deadliest enemy, from the role of policeman to the role of a criminal vested with the right to the wielding of violence against victims deprived of the right of self defense. Such a government substitutes for morality the following rule of social conduct: you may do whatever you please to your neighbor, provided your gang is bigger than his.” –John Galt

I'm As Mad As Hell, and I'm Not Going To Take It Anymore!!!

I am mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore! And you should be too. If you have any sense what-so-ever you'll get as mad as I am and start telling others what is going on. I am finally starting to see some sense in the media. Not much, but a little bit. I am posting a few more clips to show you what I mean. Finally, I feel like I am not a lone voice crying out in the wilderness.

POWERFUL

The last minute of this is so inspiring! Glenn really has a way of telling it like it is. If you are looking for a reason for my blog, this explains it all.

Freedom Rant (Failure)

Since I talk about freedom in this blog, I thought I would give you my opinion on our most important freedom of all. You’re not going to like what I have to say at first, but as you read on my point should become clear to you. Your most important freedom granted to you by the Constitution of the United States of America is the freedom to fail. Yep, there it is folks. Failure is a virtue.

I can just see you sitting there in front of your computer screen, scratching your head, saying “Wow, he’s really gone off the deep end this time!” Just hear me out. How do people learn? When a young child is told by his mother not to touch the stove because it is hot, and he does it anyway, he gets hurt. It is a trial and error, a failure if you will, and he learns from that experience that stoves are hot and should not be touched. That is the best way to learn. Mom can say it over and over again, but until the child actually finds out for himself that stoves are hot, he won’t understand it in the same regard.

As the child grows older, he goes through all sorts of trial and error scenarios. He fails multiple times, and hopefully he learns from his mistakes. When adulthood rolls around, he continues this process. Life is a never-ending set of learning experiences stacked end to end. He tries and succeeds. He tries and fails. He learns from all of this.

Now what would happen if the very failures that a person makes were not punished or scorned but rewarded? He wouldn’t learn anything from it. He would continue doing the same thing over and over again because he would have learned that whatever action he took is acceptable, and there is no consequence for it. A child who grows up in a household where stealing is rewarded will most probably become a thief as an adult.

Enough of that, I think you get what I am driving at. Failure is a good thing. It teaches us our limitations and boundaries. It pushes us to work through our problems. It teaches us how to push past our own limitations to heights we have never dreamed of. How can we discover what we are capable of, if we are not allowed to fail?

I have been flat broke and busted two times in my life. I felt completely helpless with nowhere else to turn. And then I woke up, slapped myself in the face a few times, pulled myself up by the bootstraps and figured it out. It was simple cause and effect. I look back at those times now and say, “Well, I will never do that again!” And I see that it is good. As the old saying goes, what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger. That stands true. Those are some of my most cherished memories, because without them I wouldn’t have the drive and ambition that I have today. I embrace failure as just another part of life. I learn.

What I see in America today, is this essential freedom being taken away from us at every level. So many people come to a point in their life where they think they can’t make it on their own, so they immediately turn to the government for assistance. Once they have the “help they need” they find that life is much easier when they are living off of someone else’s dime. So they just give up. They give in to the system. I cannot, for the life of me, understand these people. I guess God built me differently.

The business world is not immune to this either. Think bailout! In this realm, failure should always be allowed. But we now see our government setting the precedent with business that failure is not an option. All of these businesses that have been mismanaged to near bankruptcy should have gone down the tubes a few months ago. But big brother stepped in and saved their asses right at the end, ensuring more campaign contributions for further power gain. This is the biggest load of crap that has ever been dumped on the American people in the history of our great nation. The New Deal was bad, but this is the icing on the cake.
A fellow Paleo-Conservative, Newt Gingrich, hit the nail on the head in the following video.

I look at our education system, where high school kids with C averages are allowed admittance to state colleges for free simply because they come from a poor family. Does that make any sense to you? I am all about scholarships for poor kids that can keep their grades up, but a kid with a C average shouldn’t be in college. A rich kid with a low GPA shouldn’t be in college either. Our society now has this view that a good education is a right. That’s a bunch of crap! Education is not a right; your ability to pursue an education is a right. If you don’t make the grades to get in, then you shouldn’t even be considered. Plain and simple. What is happening is an inflation of education. I have discussed inflation in previous posts as a devaluation of currency. The inflation of education is the devaluation of a college degree. Have you noticed that it is real hard to find a high paying job these days unless you have a master’s degree? There is proof right there! The job market has been flooded with a bunch of flunkies that have bachelor’s degrees, and now they don’t mean what they used to. That degree doesn’t go as far.

Everyone heard this statement from a teacher in high school at least once: “That’s okay; we need people to flip burgers and pump gas too.” As ugly as it sounds, it is the truth! That same kind of inflation carries over to the work force as well. Not everyone can be a surgeon or a physicist; but right now every kid with a D average thinks they should be compensated as if they were. That is why we have people in labor unions that brag about pushing a broom for eight hours a day and making $35-$45 per hour. They aren’t entitled to that kind of pay; they just have a system (union) in place that they are able to exploit. And those of us who do things differently just turn a blind eye. It is a sad state of affairs. To dumb this point down to the lowest common denominator I will quote a WWE wrestler. “Know your role and shut your damn mouth!”

I am a bit of an enigma when it comes to all of this. I was that C student in high school. I was the student that the teachers thought would be pumping gas. But I have a different kind of education. I have acquired a very unique skill set, and now I am being well compensated for it. A good friend of mine, who works in the same business as I do, put it best. He said, “I have a full bank account and I am partying in Bogota, dancing with five Columbian Hooters girls while my high school guidance counselor is drinking Night Train in the alley behind a Chucky Cheese!” The economy sucks, I know. I found a way to keep a good job, and I am continuing my education on my own. Life isn’t fair. Deal with it.

There are so many systems in America that are set up as safety nets so that people aren’t allowed to fail. Failure is essential to strength and growth as an individual. I look at some people and wonder how they can have any self respect for being so weak. They take one big hit, and their life is over. They take no pride in breaking free of the situation that they are in. They take no pride in doing things on their own.

So if you find yourself at age 30 upside down on an adjustable rate mortgage that you have no way of paying back; don’t blame “predatory lenders.” Blame yourself for being naïve enough to sign the paperwork on it. And don’t go running to Uncle Sam for a handout. All you are doing is punishing those of us who do things the right way to begin with. Deal with it, learn from it, and move on!

If you find yourself at age 40 getting laid off from a union job that you have had since you graduated high school, because the economy is in the shitter; don’t blame “big business.” Blame yourself for not continuing to acquire skills that could have kept you in that job, or made you competitive in other job markets. You should feel lucky that “big business” provided you with a job that you didn’t deserve all these years anyway. And don’t go down and stand in the welfare line. Again, all you are doing is punishing those of us who have learned how to play this game called life. Deal with it, learn from it, and move on!

If you find yourself at age 50 with no way of supporting yourself after your retirement other than social security and the kindness of your children, you have no one to blame but yourself. You have committed the biggest failure of all: The failure of not learning from your mistakes.

Our current system rewards the weak, and punishes the strong. It rewards the failures that people should embrace and learn from. So now all they know is failure, but they do not recognize it as such. They see it as a way of life. Some are ignorant and simply do not know any better, others see an opportunity to exploit the productive populace. Robin Hood is long dead, and it is time he is forgotten. I am no longer asking “Who is John Galt?” My new question is, “Where is John Galt?” If anyone knows, please fill me in, because I am tired of paying for your damn mistakes too!

Quote of the Week

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

--Samuel Adams, 1776

Know Your Enemy

I have taken some time off from writing to clear my head. I went back over some of my posts from the last few weeks and noticed that I had been saying the same thing over and over again. I’m trying to move on here, but the ongoing theme of this blog will always be liberty and personal freedom.

"Know your enemy and know yourself and you can fight a hundred battles without disaster." –Sun Tsu, The Art of War

The socialists in our government are the enemy. We all know that, but there is now a new threat we have to our liberty. Isle Crossers! Three RINO Republicans crossed the isle on this stimulus bill. They are now the enemy.

This bill will fail. I know it passed the House and Senate and Obama will sign it, but what they are trying to do will fail. It will not help the American people. It was set up to have minor success in two years. The small portion of the bill that will actually create jobs will not really go into effect until 2010. How coincidental, that happens to be our next election year! Imagine that. When it is all said and done, this bill will fail miserably. We will see nothing but inflation and taxation as a result. It will permanently expand our government and get more and more people hooked on the crack rock that is government assistance. This may be the opening volley of a massive plan to expand the government’s reach into the private sector and steal what little freedom we have left. So I want to make sure that everyone knows why this happened, and exactly who it was that crossed the isle to enable it.

THIS IS THE FACE OF THE NEW ENEMY

I will be keeping a running tally of all future activity like this on my blog. When the 2010 elections roll around, I plan to compile a combined list of everyone who enabled the socialists in the 2009-2010 period, and post it right here for everyone to see. I will link back to all prior articles so you can read what I had to say at the time it happened. Expect John McCain to join this list real soon!

USING THEIR OWN TACTICS AGAINST THEM

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under
the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist
program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without
knowing how it happened." –Norman Thomas (Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party of America in 1948)

The one positive thing that could come out of this mess in Washington is the great opportunity that Constitutionalists and Libertarians have to infiltrate the Republican Party and bring it back to its conservative roots. Ron Paul has done a wonderful job of it thus far, but he is one voice alone. Libertarians and Constitutionalists alone have no power, but under the guise of the Republican Party they could be accepted with open arms and have a chance to affect real change.

I think we have a chance in this next election cycle to move the Republican Party back to its principles of limited government and low taxes. Yes, I am thinking that far ahead. Now is the time to regroup, reorganize, and prepare for our all out assault on socialism. When you see a name on this ongoing list that I am compiling, make a mental note to vote their ass out of office; and put a strong conservative Constitutional “Republican” in their place. It has to start with grass roots movements, like the one I have going right here on my blog. Who is with me?

Epiphany

I have traveled all over the world, and seen a lot of strange things. I have spent a great deal of time in places most Americans call the “third world.” I don’t say this to gloat and to rub it in your face that I am a world traveler; I tell you this to let you know the basis of some of my opinions that I will discuss in this post. I have seen how bad things can be firsthand.

I have recently had an epiphany. Like the scales falling away from Paul’s eyes when he saw Jesus, I too have had my eyes opened. This all started a few years ago. I had some things that I was dealing with in my personal life that have finally been resolved in the last few months. I have finally broken free of some of the issues that I now realize were holding me back from seeing the truth. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I have my personal life in order; and now I have the time to actually look outside of myself and my own little patch of Earth to see some of the great injustices that are being done to the American people. My personal story in this regard is irrelevant, my observations are.

“The way to crush the bourgeoisie [middle class] is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation.” -Vladimir Ilyich Lenin

What is inflation? To the uneducated it is the price of goods and services going up. That isn’t really what inflation is, that is just a symptom of inflation. Inflation is a devaluation of currency. I could write on and on about our government’s history with inflation. Just suffice it to say that this whole mess started with the Federal Reserve Act in 1913 under Woodrow Wilson and got a whole lot worse when Nixon took us off the Gold Standard. If you want to do some really interesting (and scary) research do a Google search of “exponential rate.” You will find out that we are on a precipice, and are very close to plunging into destruction. With this stimulus package, we are flooding the market with money that comes from nowhere. They are just making it up. That is going to decrease the buying power of your dollar because they are inflating the hell out of it.

Anyway, inflation basically keeps someone from saving money. Think of it like this: You take $1000 to the bank and put it in a CD that has a growth rate of 7% per year. Your money will double in 10 years. Try it on a calculator, it is close. I don’t want to get into math here so I am trying to keep it simple, just know that this is based on a logarithm of two and at the end of 10 years you end up with about $2000.

Now imagine having an inflation rate of 7% over that same 10 year period. You would still have $2000 at the end, but the buying power of that money would remain the same. What costs $1000 now, would cost $2000 in ten years. Again, this is very simple math just for an example.

The inflation rate for 2008 averaged at about 3.85%. On a side note: inflation is figured off of the Consumer Price Index. A few years back, the Federal Reserve saw that inflation was getting out of control, so instead of recommending a cut in spending, they just took housing costs and energy costs out of the equation. We now have no idea what our true inflation rate really is since the two most expensive things in our lives are not even figured into it. Talk about misdirection!

What do you think will happen to that rate if we throw more money into the pot? Like say, $1 trillion for an economic stimulus package. Or maybe Obama's promised $3 trillion if deficit spending for the next few years. How much money is that really? To understand it in visual terms, a million dollars is a stack of $1000 bills four inches high. A million dollars is a lot of money. By way of comparison, a trillion dollars is a stack of $1000 bills 67.9 miles high. That’s not end to end, that is the thickness of bills stacked on top of each other!

You might be thinking that this stimulus bill is money that is going to help people and businesses, and in the short term it may. But it is going to hurt everyone in the end. This isn’t money that is gained from borrowing or taxation, it is all inflationary. Remember, inflation is not the price of goods and services going up, that is just a symptom. Inflation is the devaluation of a currency. This is money being printed out of thin air. They are now devaluing our dollar at an exponential rate. And they little guy on the bottom working at Joe’s Auto body for just above minimum wage is going to feel it the most. His wages aren’t going to be raised, but he is too simple to see the prices slowly going up around him. Like a frog in a slowly heated pot, he will be boiled alive and won’t even realize it. And he is one of the guys who got these knuckleheads elected!

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. –George Santayana

History is replete with stories of deficit spending and hyperinflation. Hyperinflation is inflation on steroids. It is a very real possibility, and we are very close to going down that road. Read up on the Weimar Republic. I will let you do your own research on that, but suffice it to say that we are now following in their footsteps. Hyperinflation got so bad that workers demanded to be paid in cash every day. They would wheel all of their money from work to the grocery store in wheel barrows (the only thing big enough to hold that much cash) and by the time they got there, they would only be able to buy a few loaves of bread with it. These are the conditions that led to Adolf Hitler’s rise to power.

If Americans would pull their heads out of the sand, they would see that this is happening today in Zimbabwe. They have inflated their currency so much that last year's yearly inflation rate was 89.7 sextillion percent. I have a good grasp on mathematics, but I don’t even know what that number means. Daily rates were around 98% which means the price of EVERYTHING in that country DOUBLED every 24 hours. Imagine trying to feed your family in a system like that! Wait, give it another five to ten years, you will find out the hard way.

All we are doing with all of this deficit spending and Keynesian redistribution is creating another bubble. We are prolonging the inevitable. That bubble will burst, the dollar will fail. Why not get it out of the way now, while we still have some chance at coming out in one piece on the other side? The more we prolong it, the worse it will be.

Back to my epiphany. After I sorted out my personal life and actually had time to worry about things greater than myself, I started to get this nagging feeling. It was a tiny voice in the back of my head. Barely distinguishable at first, but growing ever louder each day. It has been saying, “Something is really wrong.” That whisper grew to a talk, and that talk grew to a roar. I have thrown off the chains. I have opened my eyes, and I can now see all of this going on around me. SOMETHING IS WRONG! From Lincoln, to Wilson, to FDR, to Nixon, to GW Bush, to Obama it has been getting progressively worse, and we are now standing on the edge of darkness. SOMETHING IS WRONG! This is not the America that our founders lived in. This is no longer the free world. The middle class is being destroyed right before our eyes, along with the upper class and the lower class. In an attempt to make everyone equal, the very people who make innovations and provide jobs are having their livelihood destroyed. SOMETHING IS WRONG! Our freedom to live life as we choose and make a better life for our children is being torn from us, and no one cares enough to see it. SOMETHING IS WRONG! We are leveraging our kids and our grand kids with a debt that will never be able to be repaid. SOMETHING IS WRONG! This cannot go on forever. There is an absolute ceiling on how far this can progress before it all collapses in on itself. That day is drawing near and both parties in Washington are throwing gas on the fire! SOMETHING IS WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG! Who is John Galt?

It’s all bullshit. None of these people in government give a damn about you or I. They placate you to get your vote, and all the while they set up conditions for failure. Then when the inevitable failure happens one side points the finger at the other and says, “It was the Republicans, they did this.” Or, “It was the Democrats, they did this.” I would argue that it has been more the socialist liberal Democrats that have done it, but what have the Republicans done to stop it? NOTHING. They actually enable it by playing the game!

The Democrats and the Republicans are both locked in a debate over how to best run the economy. My position is that they shouldn’t even be having that debate in the first place. It is unconstitutional. When the founders wrote it down, they set very strict guidelines for what they can and cannot do. Those rules have been tossed by the wayside so many times it is ludicrous. They are supposed to provide for a common defense and ensure domestic tranquility. That means national defense and laws enforced by police officers. The constitution, if followed to the letter, is a self licking ice cream cone. It takes care of itself. Government stays in its place and allows people to live as they choose.

The Democrats stand for a strong central government that controls industry and the economy. They are socialists through and through. The Republicans tell us that they stand for smaller government and lower taxes, but that is not enough. When you give these Marxists and inch, they will always take a mile.

SOMETHING IS WRONG. This is not how man was intended to live. We are enslaving ourselves little by little every day. We do it every two years when we go to the ballot box. We are laying down our freedoms at their feet. I told you in the beginning of this post that I had been all over the world. I have observed many cultures in many places, and it is my firm belief that some people don’t want freedom. They don’t know how to live free. They have been living under a dictatorship or totalitarian rule for so long that they wouldn’t know what to do with freedom if they had it. Why do you think it has taken so long to win the peace in Iraq? The problem is, I step out my front door and I see it all around me. People who actually want to give up the freedom they have for the sake of not having to worry about things. Their idea of freedom is free health care, and free food stamps, and free welfare checks, and free abortions at the family planning clinic, and free retirement by way of social security. That isn’t freedom, it is enslavement! And they are dragging me down into that hole with them! SOMETHING IS REALLY REALLY WRONG! When the shit hits the fan, and I believe it will pretty soon, watch out for the finger pointing. Everyone will want to blame someone else, but they will all be at fault. Don't buy into that for a second. If you do, you will be contributing to the problem and will allow someone to rise to power that will only start the process over again.

How do we fix this? I don't know. But the first step to fixing something is troubleshooting and identifying the problem. I am still in the process of that. I am trying to contribute to the solution by posting on this blog. If more people are informed, it might help to change what is happening. It is like that scene in the Matrix. I wish I had taken the red pill.

I will end with a quote that sums up my feelings.

"You have never lived,
‘till you have almost died.
And for those who fight for it,
freedom has a special flavor that the protected will never know"

-Anonymous quote penned on a sign at a command post at Khe Sanh, Republic of Vietnam

Ayn Rand on the Roll of Government in the Economy

Quote of the Week

“A free economy will not break down. All depressions are caused by government interference. and, the cure is always offered, so far, to take more of the poisons that caused the disaster. Depressions are not the result of a free economy.”

And the Hits Just Keep On Coming...

Hilda Solis Pictures, Images and Photos
Add another tax cheat to the list. Hilda Solice, Obama’s choice for Secretary of Labor is the newest appointee in hot water over taxes. Her husband, Sayyad had $6,468 due for outstanding tax liens from 1993. That is 16 years!

Solice is a firm supporter of the Card Check system. For those of you who don’t know, Card Check is a law that would require an open ballots for all union voting. What that means is, if someone comes to you at work and asks you to help form a labor union, you would have to let them know openly if you support them or not. The Unions went to secret ballots in the early years because they were afraid of managers influencing the voting pool. Now, they wish to overturn that, because it would be in the union’s benefit. With Card Check, they will be able to know who supports them, and who is a dissenter. It puts all of the influence back in the union’s hands. Then they can pressure you into quitting or joining their little club, “for your own good” of course. Did someone say “socialist?” Oh yea, that was me!

I can’t believe Obama actually picked all of these people! One tax cheat after another. But don’t worry; they know what is best for you. They are great at spending your tax dollars.

You Can't Polish a Turd

My platoon sergeant in the Marines once told me, “You can’t polish a turd. If you try, you just get crap all over yourself.” But that is exactly what Republicans in the Senate are doing with this stimulus bill. They have been set up, and are playing right into the hands of Obama’s cronies. What a shame. The House Republicans got it right. And people wonder why I support term limits for members of the US Senate. Both sides have way too many career politicians.

This bill passed the House without one single Republican voting for it. In fact it was the Democrats who crossed the isle and gave the bi-partisan vote against the thing. But with the strong majority in the House, the Dems won the day and the bill went to the Senate for approval. When the uber-liberals in the Senate got a hold of it, they immediately started adding pork to it. The total of the bill increased from around $800 billion to upwards of $1 trillion in the matter of a few days. And then the Republicans jumped in. They thought they were doing the right thing, or at least they wanted us to think they were doing the right thing. They tore into the bill and started cutting out all of the “wasteful spending.” It’s all wasteful spending if you ask me.

Now, we all know that they weren’t actually going to spend $200 million on a project to put sod on the National Lawn. That, and the other pork, was a carefully planned out plot to draw these yahoos into doing exactly what we see them doing now. The Republicans are going in and cutting out all this junk, but it is still going to pass. The junk was put in there just so they would have something to cut! A couple of RINO Republicans will inevitably end up voting for the thing, and Obama will have the bi-partisan support he has desired. Misdirection is key to achieving the socialist’s goals. To them, the ends always justify the means.

The most liberating day of my life, was the day that I threw off the chains of partisan politics. Since I now consider myself a Constitutionalist, I can be critical of everyone. The Democrats are doing everything they can to destroy the foundation of the Constitution. They will not be happy until they have a socialist democracy like many of the countries of Western Europe. And the Republicans in the Senate are going right along with all this crap. They are handing the Dems our country and our freedom on a silver platter.

I never thought I would hear myself say this, but Ron Paul seems to have the best ideas around when it comes to dealing with our economy. If he had not been so weak on foreign policy, and had stayed off the coffee during the primaries, he might have gotten my vote. I am a conservative. I am what you would call the far far right wing. Hell, I’m more right wing than Ronald Reagan. All of these nitwits in government are way too far to the left for me! The Republicans are polishing this turd of a stimulus bill, and the crap is going to get all over everyone.

We Surround Them (A Grass-Roots Movement)

I just heard about this the other day, and I think it is a great idea. The rumor is, they are going to use all the pictures and put them together into a giant collage that can be sent to our government. I did it. Its worth looking into.

I'm not really sure what point he is trying to make with number eight, but I can definitely get behind all of the other ones.

The Audacity of Hypocrisy

Mere days after our new Vice President told us that it was our patriotic duty to pay taxes we found out that another Obama cabinet appointee has had some inconsistencies in his tax returns. Inconsistency seems to be a trend in the new Obama administration. Put that in your pipe and smoke it! Let’s take a look at some of our elected officials and Obama appointees, and learn how they do business.

Charlie Rangel

Last September, Charlie Rangel found out that he owed the IRS $5000 due to his failure to report income from a rental property in the Dominican Republic. For those of you educated in public schools, Charlie Rangel is the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. That means he is ultimately responsible for writing and approving new tax law! This guy has his sticky fingers in all sorts of shady deals, but Nanci Pelosi doesn’t care. She decided to keep him in place after all of this was revealed. His excuse is that it was just an innocent mistake.

Timothy Geithner was questioned at his confirmation hearing about his tax troubles. He was selected to be Obama’s Treasury Secretary. Talk about priceless! This guy owes around 34 thousand bucks to the IRS for a period of three years of back taxes. He let us all know that this was just a “careless and avoidable mistake” because he used Turbo-Tax and filed the tax return himself. You would think someone making that much money would hire an accountant or tax attorney to do this job for him. I do! The price is tax deductable. This is the Secretary of the Treasury! The one person that really needs to be financially literate, and he can’t do his own taxes right?

Bill Richardson

awww, aint he cute

At least Bill Richardson had the common courtesy to withdraw his name from consideration for Commerce Secretary after it was found out that he had some shady back-room dealings with contractors in his home state of New Mexico. The whole thing smelled of Blago-esque pay to play.

Tom Daschle
Oh Tom, we\'ll miss you. Pictures, Images and Photos

And then we have Tom Daschle, who was Obama’s pick for Secretary of Health and Human Services. This is the guy that Obama wanted at the wheel when we are all taxed to death to provide socialized health care to millions of people who neither want nor need it. Luckily he withdrew his name from consideration after this scandal came to light. Back in 1999, Daschle said that "Tax cheaters cheat us all!" That Obama would even choose Daschle without propper vetting only shows the lengths this man will go to. He is arrogant and will stop at nothing until we are living under a Socialist government.

Others of Note

William Lynn, Obama’s pick for Deputy Secretary of Defense is a former lobbyist for Raytheon. This came right after Obama said that he would not do this kind of thing. SOURCE

Nancy Killefer withdrew from consideration for Chief Performance Officer (whatever that is) after it was learned that she also has some discrepancies in her past tax returns. SOURCE

Conclusion
If you continue to vote for a “wolf in sheep’s clothing Robin Hood” we are all going to end up living under the Sheriff of Nottingham! Government only has three ways to make money: tax, borrow, or inflate. We are printing money like crazy right now with the bailouts, so you can expect that bubble to pop sooner or later. Your dollar isn’t going to be worth as much, and the little guy will be the one paying the most. With Democrats, you can ALWAYS expect tax raises. Give it some time; your taxes will rise in the next four years, I guarantee it. And the ones who will be doing it will be the same people who do everything they can to circumvent the system. Liberals are great at spending other people's money! These guys think they are above the law. Somehow, the Constitution doesn’t apply to them since they are now in power. And if that is the case, what does this mean for the rest of our Constitutional rights? If you believe these people have your best interests at heart, you must be sharing a pipe with Michael Phelps.

If this is the kind of Change you hoped for, you are in for a lot of dissapointment. It looks like it is turning out to be business as usual among the new power elite! These are the people Obama picked. Its like he is throwing every socialist he can find at his cabinet, and hoping some of them stick. These are the people that will soon be making decisions that will personally affect you. I can’t believe he had the audacity to do it!

Lessons for kids, Lessons for adults

In an attempt to break things down to the lowest common denominator, I thought I would start regularly posting a blog under this title. I have two quick lessons today. As I think of more, I will put them up. If you have any suggestions, leave them in the comment box.

INFLATION

Here is a great way to teach kids about inflation. Go to the toy store and buy three games of monopoly. Yes, you will need three for this. Sit all the kids down around one board and start a normal game, you can play also if you want. Once the game gets underway, and all of the kids have some properties, break out the other two games. Tell them that, in an attempt to help them all out, you are going to be using the money from the other two board games in addition to the money they are already playing with. I'm am pretty sure that all the kids will agree, since more money has to be better, right? The only rule for game play that you change is GO. When a player passes GO, they no longer collect 200 dollars. They now collect 5000 dollars. You are, in essence, pumping money into their little economy. The kids will eat this up, again, more money has to be better right. Now the game will take off. All the kids will have a lot of money so they will be able to easily buy the properties that they land on.

Soon they will notice a problem though. Once everyone owns property and has a lot of money built up, the game will not be fun anymore. When one player lands on another players spot and has to pay rent for a hotel, the owner of the property will look at the small amount of money being paid and say, "Hey, this isn't fun anymore. Its not even worth playing. He is only paying me 500 dollars for this, but everyone has hundreds of thousands of dollars. Can we change the rules again and raise the rent price?" Ding ding ding! They have just learned a valuable lesson. When the market is flooded with paper money, the overall value of that money is decreased. Prices will then go up. Be sure to explain this to them.

REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH

Next Halloween, take your kids trick-or-treating. Be sure to have a group of friends or siblings go along. About eight to ten kids will do. Now, let all the kids go around to the different houses in your neighborhood. Tell them to all meet back at a central location at a certain time. (I am from a small town, so this is still a possibility. If you live in a big city or unsafe neighborhood, just take this as an analogy.) When all the kids come back, tell them that they have to dump their candy in separate piles on the floor. Have them look at all the piles. Some will be large, some will be small. Now, tell them they have to mix all of that candy together and everyone will get an equal share. Then step back and watch what happens.

The small kids who weren't able to walk as far or as fast will love this idea. They are going to be getting more candy than they started out with. Its a great deal for them. They get something for nothing, but are too young to realize that they will grow bigger someday. This will not benefit them in the long run. The bigger kids will most certainly say that it isn't fair. They worked a lot harder for what they got, they should be able to keep it. The smart kids in the middle will not go along with this either, since they know they will soon grow bigger and be able to get more candy next year. They don't want their candy being given away to the smaller kids when they are better able to get more. But there will be other kids in the middle that will let their emotions take hold, and say that the little kids should get more to make things fair. Once the argument has died down, sit them down and explain things to them all. Its never to early to teach your kids about these things. As a parent, you have the most important job in America. Raise them Right!
