This blog is, has always been, and always will be about freedom. I am going to address what I see as a failure to think. It is almost like I am standing outside everything that is going on, and can see all the ins and outs clearly; but others just keep doing what they always do and pay no heed to the truth. I am speaking to you here. I am speaking to the new reader of my blog. I am speaking to people who check it every day. I am speaking to those who agree with me, and are looking for some support in their beliefs. I am speaking to those who disagree with me. I am speaking to the person who reads my blog for a good laugh. Put this in your pipe and smoke it. I am speaking to you. Are you listening?
A few years ago when my sister was in her second year of college, she had me check out an assignment that she had. She was in some sort of Political Science class, and she wanted me to take a quiz that showed where I fell on a political scale called The Political Compass. The final computer generated result was a square; and by answering the questions, the quiz placed a dot somewhere inside the box to show where your political beliefs placed you. The four corners of the square were: Liberal, Conservative, Socialist, and Libertarian. My dot was on the far bottom right corner showing that I was a conservative. Go figure.
The more I think about this, the more I come to the conclusion that the scale is all wrong. It seems to me that this is all just another way to confuse people into believing whatever bullshit is thrown their way. That is not how the world looks to me, and I think I have a pretty good insight into things. Anyone with half a brain knows that a poll or test of this nature is all about the wording of the questions and answers. There was no option to choose “It’s none of the government’s damn business” as an answer. Had there been a choice like that, I would have been placed in the Libertarian corner, not the Conservative. That is my view on a lot of policy that I see these days. It really isn’t any of the governments’ damn business. You see, with the scale I just described the questions were worded in a way that made a Libertarian look like a moderate. If someone shares beliefs with liberals and conservatives, then they must be libertarian. That is not true. Those beliefs may look the same on the surface, but the root of the belief is totally different.
Let’s take a look at my kind of scale. I will use the typical left-right scale that everyone is familiar with, but it is going to go a bit deeper. In the middle you have Conservative and just to the left of that you have Liberal. To the far left you have Socialist, and to the extreme far right you have Libertarian/Constitutionalist.
Liberals are Socialists. There, I said it. I don’t care what you think about it, that is the way things are. The terms are interchangeable. Just like the terms Libertarian and Constitutionalist are interchangeable. A Christian libertarian is what I would call a Constitutionalist and that is where I place myself on the scale. Everything on the left side of the scale is one big group. The term liberal is just the new face of the old socialist belief. Let’s call a duck a duck here. You cannot be a little bit liberal; you cannot be a little bit socialist. It’s like saying you are a little bit pregnant. In fact, the only true moderate is the conservative. The conservative is the middle ground between the Socialist/Liberal faction and the Libertarians. The term “conservative” denotes conserving the system we have now. The system is broke. The system is on the verge of being a socialist democracy which is an oxymoron, but still possible. Look at France. Libertarians and Constitutionalists are on the side of freedom. I have no time for a lukewarm life; there is no grey area when it comes to freedom. Let me explain this a little deeper.
Liberals/Socialists want you to think with your heart. They use the media propaganda machine to show you all the bad things and “injustices” in the world and then do their best to make you feel sorry and guilty about them. They say that it is a moral imperative to do what we can to help out since we are so privileged, and the people on your TV are not. Everything is an emotional issue. They play to people’s emotions in the hope that they can gain your vote. A socialist’s logic comes from emotion. My emotion comes from my logic.
There are two types of Socialists: the manipulators, and the manipulated. I would call the manipulators the true socialists, and the manipulated are the ones who claim to be liberal. The manipulators constantly set up conditions for failure, and when the inevitable failure happens, the manipulators try to fix the problem with more conditions for failure. They are always there to throw gas on the fire and call it water. And the liberal manipulated believe it! What fools they are.
I can prove this point with about any issue we see in media today, but I am going to use an analogy that seems to be the most emotionally charged issue of the day. The issue I will use is that of gay marriage. Here is one of the most blatant uses of calling gas, water. This debate seems to center around: The death tax, the estate tax, being able to claim a partner as a dependant on income tax returns, and the right to make medical decisions during times of emergency. I may have left some things out here because this isn’t an issue I sit around and think about all the time. That being said, we will just go with these four items. So we have a tax issue, a tax issue, a tax issue, and a power of attorney issue.
Now ask yourself this question: What party has been the typical “tax and spend” party? I think we would agree that has been Democrats. What party do liberals always vote for? Again, we have the Democrats. Look at any socialist system anywhere in the world and you will see taxation run amuck. I am starting to see a bit of a contradiction in logic here. All of these taxes are supported by the socialist liberals, but they also support gay marriage. Those who support gay marriage do so to get equal taxation, but they support the people who tax them the most. Am I starting to make sense?
Now let’s look at a libertarian view of this issue. Libertarians are often quoted as saying, “My right to swing my fist stops at your nose.” Basically, you have your rights but they cannot infringe upon my own. In a truly free system, two consenting adults could live together in a home and do things as they choose. There would be no taxation problems to worry about since taxation is an infringement of my right to make a profit and keep it. You can’t have true freedom in an overtaxed society. The power of attorney for medical purposes would be a simple matter of paperwork.
Long story short, what you do behind closed doors is none of my business; and as much as you want to make me care, I don’t care at all. As a Christian, if you asked my opinion, I would tell you that I think that act is a sin and an abomination, but who am I to tell you how to live your life? Your sin isn’t my issue. That is between you and God. So you see, the quarrel here doesn’t really lie with the state, it lies with the Church. Gay people know that a true Christian church would never sanction a gay marriage. It goes against the teachings the religion. In fact, it goes against the teaching of every major religion on the planet. They know they can’t win this battle with the church so, they use the state to push their own brand of morality on others. They look to the only system that is willing to accept their lifestyle, the socialists. And the socialists are always there with open arms to welcome any kind of behavior, as long as it gets them voted into power. This is where libertarians draw the line. Your right to swing your fist stops at my nose, bub! You are not allowed to force me to accept that which I believe to be wrong.
In a truly free society, the issue of gay marriage wouldn’t even be a debate. Two consenting adults could live in the same house, comingle their funds, pass on their estate to each other without taxation, and make medical decisions for each other in times of crisis. There wouldn’t be an issue. When our country was founded, marriage was not a State sanctioned event. Two people went to a church and got married. They might have filed a record of it at that county courthouse, but there was no need for a complicated licensing process. It should be the same today. I have now brought my point back to “it’s none of the government’s damn business.” In fact, in a truly free society those two people would be allowed to practice their own deluded form of religion. They could go to their own church and have whatever kind of union ceremony they wanted and call it whatever they want, as long as they didn’t tell me that I have to accept it. When you try to force your moral ideas on me you take away my right to my own moral values and beliefs. Again, you are not allowed to force me to accept that which I believe to be wrong. That is not freedom, it is enslavement.
So you see, in this case, the socialists have set up a system of over-taxation. They have set up a system where a group of people is angered. Then they play the emotional card and say that it isn’t fair that one group of people should have tax breaks, and others should not. So what does that “disenfranchised” group do? They go out and vote for the people who are the root cause of the problem in the first place, because they have been manipulated into thinking they are being treated unfairly. They end up giving up rights in order to gain others. They submit to more taxation and inflation policy so that they can get tax breaks in one area of their life. That system can only last for so long. After a while, there will be no rights left.
A socialist’s logic comes from his emotions. My emotions come from my logic. I am justifiably angry about what I see here. I am angry because I see the root of the problem, and I see the manipulated being manipulated, but I am dragged down with them. I look at these people as a parent would look at a child. The parent watches the child make mistakes, but knows that the child isn’t yet able to understand the consequences of his actions. The parent wants the best for the child because it will be good for the whole family, but the child continues to err. Call me arrogant. Call me heartless. Call me cruel. If you think those names apply to me, you are one of the manipulated. If you understand my logic here, but are afraid of what it represents, then you are the manipulator, and you are my enemy.
Or maybe you see this happening, but are afraid. Maybe you think that by giving the socialists your support, they will somehow grant you favor when they come in the night to strip you of the last of your freedoms. You coward! They want nothing less than total control over every aspect of your life. You can gain no special favor from them. What good will your lifestyle choice be when you are forced to give 60%, 70%, 80%, 90% of your earnings to your puppet master in taxes? You are being manipulated.
Or maybe you are the type who says things like, “Well, you have your opinion and I have mine. The diversity of ideas is what makes America great.” Diversity of ideas is the antithesis of freedom if your ideas are socialist. What kind of Catch 22 have you put yourself in? You cannot have freedom by taking freedom away. If you gain one freedom by surrendering another, what have you gained? Nothing! It is a zero sum game! You can’t have your cake and eat it too! So who are you? Are you the manipulated, or the manipulator? If you gain rights by taking away those of another, what does that make you? It makes you a slave driver! What will you do when someone stronger comes to vote your rights away? You will do what you have always done; you will give them away for the deceitful promise of something greater. But we all know that those promises are never kept, and then you will be the slave! It is sad that I am the one fighting for your true rights, and you are fighting against me. You are misguided. You are wrong. You are being manipulated. You are a fool!
To sum things up, I don’t care about you. I don’t care what you do. I don’t care how you live your life. I don’t care who lives in your home. I don’t care who sleeps in your bed. I don’t care what you do for a living. All I care about is that I am left to live my life as I see fit. To teach my kids the values I have learned and come to accept in life. To make money to support myself and my family without it being taken away from me every step of the way and devalued. To not be told what to think or how to act. To not be told that I have to accept someone else’s moral creed. To not have to watch protests on TV put on my misguided manipulated fools. To not have to watch socialist propaganda on the news that manipulates the uneducated into voting their lives away. To not have my freedoms taken from me for the sake of someone else that I don’t really care about in the first place.
Do you want to know the secret to true success in life? Here it is: Mind your own damn business. When you do, everything else will fall into place. I’m trying to mind my own business, you should too! And if you think I am an arrogant, greedy, capitalist, rightwing, anti-social, fundamentalist, Evangelical Christian; then you are the biggest part of the problem. I wear those names with a badge of honor, you use them as scorn. You are the manipulated fool. The manipulated liberal fool wants the one right that is most important to him. I want truly equal rights for everyone. The liberal fool could have that one right if he would set emotion aside for a moment, use some basic logic, open his eyes, and see who is really pulling on his puppet strings. We both have the same goal, but I have a better way of reaching it. It is the way of true freedom.
“The doctrine that ‘human rights’ are superior to ‘property rights’ simply means that some human beings have the right to make property out of others; since the competent have nothing to gain from the incompetent, it means the right of the incompetent to own their betters and to use them as productive cattle. Whoever regards this as human and right, has no right to the title of ‘human’”. . . ”The only proper purpose of a government is to protect man’s rights, which means: to protect him from physical violence. A proper government is only a policeman, acting as an agent of man’s self defense, and, as such, may resort to force only against those who start the use of force. The only proper functions of a government are: the police, to protect you from criminals; the army, to protect you from foreign invaders; and the courts, to protect your property and contracts from breach or fraud by others, to settle disputes by rational rules, according to objective law. But a government that initiates the employment of force against men who had forced no one, the employment of armed compulsion against disarmed victims, is a nightmare infernal machine designed to annihilate morality: such a government reverses its only moral purpose and switches from the role of protector to the role of man’s deadliest enemy, from the role of policeman to the role of a criminal vested with the right to the wielding of violence against victims deprived of the right of self defense. Such a government substitutes for morality the following rule of social conduct: you may do whatever you please to your neighbor, provided your gang is bigger than his.” –John Galt
